Field Day is a party for all and we are constantly working on ways to improve the festival experience for our patrons. Here are some things that might be useful for you to know before you arrive.
Carers / Companion Cards
We know that equal access can sometimes mean being accompanied by a carer. Field Day offers complimentary carer/companion tickets for companion card holders. If you’d like to request a companion ticket, visit this link and fill in the request form. You’ll need your Moshtix order number (from when you bought your own ticket to Field Day) and a copy of your companion card.
IMPORTANT- We are more than happy to facilitate any companion swaps should your companion need to be replaced with someone else during the day. Just ask the Gate Manager or the Accessibility Liaison and they will help organise this.
To help improve the experience for our accessible patrons we will be operating an accessible hotline on the day of Field Day. The hotline phone will be monitored by the Accessibility Liaison and our Operations Manager for the duration of the day and can be reached through both phone call and text message. Please feel free to contact the hotline if you’re facing any access issues, need support, or have any questions related to accessibility at Field Day. We strongly recommended contacting the number through WhatsApp, as mobile phone reception is likely to drop out as the festival gets busier.
Accessibility Hotline number- 0497 646 167
This number is only active on January 1st, 2024.
To discuss any accessibility requirements prior to this date, please call our office number on 02 9699 2454 or email [email protected].
Assistance animals are welcome at this event as we understand that equal access can sometimes mean having one accompany you. Relief area/s for assistance animals are available, please ask one of our friendly staff or Accessible Liaison for assistance.
Assistance animals are trained to assist a person with disability and meet standards of hygiene and behaviour that are appropriate for an animal in a public place.
If you would like to discuss how we can support you and your Assistance Animal on site before Field Day, please email [email protected]
Getting to the Festival
Parking – There is no dedicated patron parking for Field Day. The closest public parking is at The Domain Wilson car park. We strongly suggest booking in advance as it will sell out. This parking station has lift access to Art Gallery Road.
Drop Off – The accessible drop off location is on Hospital Road and will be operational from 12pm – 7pm. It can only be reached via College Street. There is a continuous footpath of travel from the drop off point to the accessible entrance.
Pick-Up – The pick-up location is located on St Mary’s road between Cathedral Street and Yurong Parkway and will be operational from 7pm. There is a continuous footpath of travel from the exit point (the same as the accessible entry point) to the pick-up location.
The accessible entrance is also the VIP entrance and is located on Art Gallery Road near the intersection of Hospital Road. It is identifiable by the VIP sign and is on a concrete path. If you would like to wear an accessible wristband at Field Day, this is one of the places you can collect it. This location is also the best place to exit when you’re leaving Field Day.
Centre Field Stage – Access Wristband
To help ensure that the Centre Field Stage accessible viewing platform and toilet behind it are only being used by those that need them most, Field Day is trialling a wristband for accessible patrons. We’re hoping it will help remove the need for accessible patrons to continuously explain their circumstances and support event staff and security guards to control access to these facilities.
The staff at the Accessible Entry lanes will offer this wristband upon entry but if you miss out, we will also have them available for collection from the Viewing Platform, the Anything Anytime tent and from the roving Accessibility Liaison staff member. It is completely your choice to self-identify and wear this wristband – it is not compulsory to have it on to use these facilities.
Moving Around The Site
Field Day 2024 at The Domain has ample pathways throughout the site, leading to or close to all amenities, event facilities, bars, stages and viewing platform. The paths are continuous and are concrete. They can occasionally get congested, so if you require assistance to move from one area of the site to another, we encourage you to contact the Accessibility Hotline or ask any of our event staff for assistance.
The rest of the site is grass.
We have ample accessible toilets on site. There is one at the viewing platform, in the VIP area and at every block of toilets. Check the accessible patron map for their exact locations.
Accessible Viewing Platform
There will be an accessibility platform at the Centre Field Stage (outdoor stage). The viewing platform is solely for the use of our accessibility patrons plus one other. There is a continuous concrete path of travel from the Accessible Entry to the viewing platform. Chairs are provided on the platform as well as an accessible toilet.
The viewing platform is identifiable by this symbol.
At Field Day, the bars, Anything Anytime (Merch/Cloakroom) and Recycling will have Accessible service points with lowered counters.
Field Day is not AUSLAN interpreted.
Field Day will not have captioning.
Lighting/Special Effects Considerations
To make sure you’re aware of what to expect, please note that the below lighting and special effects will be used by Artists throughout their performances:
Centre Field Stage
Close proximity fireworks
Left Field Stage
Field Day will be operating an advanced Medical Facility and a crowd care, Party Safe space. These tents are next to each other near the Island Stage and are noted on the accessible patron map. The Party Safe team will also be out roaming the site in their Pink Tees, handing out sunscreen and lollies and are always up for a chat. They’re there to support you if you’re feeling overwhelmed, unsafe, or are unwell.
Emergency Evacuation Procedures
In the unlikely event of a site evacuation, please make your way to the Accessible exit point (the VIP/Accessible Entrance) and follow the directions of event staff and security to the closest Assembly Area.
The Accessibility Liaison will be available to assist you in this process if required and is briefed to travel to the Accessible viewing platform to help and then to the Accessible exit point.
We are happy to assist people with accessibility requirements in making plans for a pleasant and safe festival experience.
