LGBTIQA+

Field Day is extremely proud to have been accepted to the “Oxford Street Pride Charter”. Given our close proximity to Oxford Street, we feel it’s important to try to make Field Day a safe and welcoming place for the local community.

As part of the Pride Charter we will:

1. Create welcoming and inclusive spaces for LGBTIQA+ people.
We will help ensure the precinct is identifiable as a haven for LGBTIQA+ people, in businesses, venues and public spaces. We will display visible LGBTIQA+ symbols with pride and use inclusive language and behaviour to show our customers, staff, and visitors that Oxford Street is a welcoming place for our diverse community. We will also have ‘All Gender’ toilets at Field Day.

2. Increase employment and business opportunities for LGBTIQA+ people.
We will actively support increased employment opportunities for LGBTIQA+ identifying people within our businesses, including marginalised* people. We welcome the establishment of new LGBTIQA+ led businesses and services in the area and will lend our support where we can.
If you wish to enquire about upcoming work at Field Day please email [email protected]

3. Work together to ensure LGBTIQA+ communities are safe and supported.
We will collectively call out and proactively address discrimination to ensure LGBTIQA+ communities feel safe, are protected, and have a voice in how the precinct is developed and operates. We are making  LGBTIQA+ inclusion training available to all staff and we will advocate to our suppliers and service providers to do the same. Staff that have completed the training will wear a progress flag pin on the day.

4. Honour and share LGBTIQA+ history and culture within the Oxford Street Precinct.
We will share the stories of LGBTIQA+ people, increase awareness of issues of importance to the community and collaborate with the community to celebrate LGBTIQA+ identity and culture in the precinct. We make considered efforts to support under-represented* people to have an active role in the future of the precinct.
